To arrange a wooden staircase by carpet, without hiding its original beauty, you need to buy a special carpet track for the stairs. It will reduce the noise level and the degree of sliding, as well as increase depreciation indicators. For the project, you will need some finishing materials, consumables, fasteners and tools.
There are two ways to fix the carpet on the stairs – Hollywood and waterfall. In the Hollywood method, a carpet is used, which is tightly clamped along the edges of the prototers (above and below the stairs) and on the steps themselves. This method is used for noticeable home stairs, for example, those leading from the living room to the second floor. In the Waterfall method, everything is much easier. The carpet is glued to the edge of the tread at the top, and then drops down and, attaching to each stage, is again fixed on the tread below. Carpet is fixed with glue, double -sided tape, nails and buttons, clamping racks, clips for carpet or carpet holders. The choice is yours. Glue can ruin the staircase and carpet, and tape is not too reliable. The carpet and staircase due to nails or buttons will suffer even more. Everything is easier with rails or clamps, but the rails need to be selected, and the clamps are not very reliable. Cargain holders are considered the best option – they do not spoil the materials and reliably holds the carpet in place.
